DOWNTOWN PORT ORCHARD

ART ON A CUP

#POCupArt2023

The Port Orchard Bay Street Association is introducing a new event – Art On A Cup – designed to be fun and get your creative energies engaged for the New Year.

Create artwork on a 16 oz. cup. It must be a cup provided by the event organizers. Use any medium you like to create your artwork. It can be flat or 3-dimensional on any part of the cup.

Cups may be picked up as supplies last from January 20 to February 20 at the following locations: Leanna’s Art and Coffee, Sue’s Fresh Juice Bar and Sandwich Shop, Coffee Oasis, Carter’s Chocolates, Farmer Rosie, The Candy Shoppe, Nostalgia House, Dude’s Donuts, and Sidney Museum and Art Gallery. An entry form will be inside the cup.

Submit the finished cup and entry form to Leanna’s Art & Coffee, Sue’s Fresh Juice Bar and Sandwich Shop, or Salmonberry Books, in the Port Orchard Market on Bay Street or Dude’s Donuts by February 24. Entries must completely dry and fixed at the time of submission. Once your submission and entry form have been received, an entry tag with a number and first name will be placed alongside your submitted cup.

Cups will be on display at the Public Market through February 28.  A panel of judges will award a prize in each age group or category and then there is also the People’s Choice – so the sooner you get your artwork entered, the more votes you will receive.  Don’t hesitate to get your family and friends to go downtown to vote for your art piece. People’s Choice voting will start January 21.

Contest is open to all ages. Categories are: Youth 5-12 years, Teen 13-18, Adult and Professional Artist. Entries must be appropriate for a community, family event.

All entrants agree to allow use of their name(s) and photos for promotional purposes. Entrants under 18 must have parent or guardian signature on the entry form.

All entries must be released/left for display at the Port Orchard Market until after judging. They can be collected by contestants starting Monday, March 1 and must be collected by Friday, March 5.
