Meet the Board | Sarah J.

 hello! 

I’m sarah Johnson,

Co-owner of Serotonin LLC, a marketing agency I founded with my husband Joshua.

I grew up on 40 magical acres in the ‘Land of Many Berries’ (Olalla), next door to my grandparents, and am the eldest of my 9 siblings. I love my family with all my heart (and my in-laws too!) and I’m so thankful for how connected we are, especially as I watch my kids running around in a pack of 20+ cousins (and counting)!

I’m also really proud to be a 4th generation entrepreneur. My great grandma owned a boutique in Tacoma in the 50’s+60’s and my grandpa, dad and mom were all bitten with the entrepreneurial bug. SK has been my home my entire 40+ years and while I’ve traveled extensively around the world, SK is always the best place in the world to call home. Flying over Western Washington on a sunny day, is there anything better?

But what I think really makes SK stand out, is the people who live here. Our relationships are invaluable, our community is everything and what makes the SK community special is our outrageous generosity, compassion, and creativity. I love being surrounded by so many people who are an inspiration to me, my grandparents + my children.

Speaking of children, we have 3 - Mackenzie ‘Zee’ will be a ’24 SKHS graduate in just a few short weeks (along with her 2 year degree from OC), Benjamin ‘Benny’ is graduating from preschool and our sweet little Viviane (Viv? Vivy? Vee? - we’re still deciding) arrived last fall. We currently reside in Southworth but are anxiously awaiting the day we are moved into our building and living amongst all our fine neighbors on Bay Street. 

I was new to the board last year and spent my first year observing, listening, and asking a LOT of questions. This year I’m volunteering in the Vice President position because of Monika. She’s an energetic, kind, and determined leader and it’s an honor to serve our community/family on Bay Street with her. We’re looking forward to creating more opportunities for our community to connect, making space for everyone to do to what they love and contribute in a meaningful way on the team and cheering everyone on as we build an even brighter Bay Street in the coming years together. The best is yet to come!
