Meet the Board | Coreen

 hello!

Hello, I’m Coreen!

I am a fifth-generation Kitsaper who loves my community and has always worked within my community.

I am a graduate of Central Kitsap HS and have a BA and Masters from the University of WA (I commuted the 6 years from Kitsap!)

My first husband Randy in high school and we moved to South Kitsap in 1980. We raised all three of our kids in South Kitsap. Randy passed away in 2001 and I am now married to Steve Sego, we also went to high school.

Together with our kids (5 in total) we have and are engaged in multiple businesses and community projects. We own The Dock Bar & Eatery and Waterman Mitigation Partners (it’s difficult to explain but to make a long story short, we have been working on setting up a county-wide environmental mitigation bank for about 8 years). We are also involved in a number of development projects around Kitsap.

For 35+ years I was Executive Director for several not-for-profits doing a great deal of fundraising and event coordination, including South Kitsap Helpline, the Harrison Hospital Foundation, Clear Creek Trail Project, and the Port Orchard Chamber.

With our son Josh and daughter-in-law Sarah, we bought the old Dragonfly Theater building and started a not-for-profit to renovate and reopen as the Polaris Theater….it is a loooonnnggg road and we need a LOT of funds still… but slowly and surely!

Steve and I served on the Roxy Theatre Foundation Board for 7 years. I am also very active in the Maurice Mathis Guild to benefit our hospital and have been on the POBSA Board for 7 or 8 years, previously serving as President for 3 years.

When I’m not working on business or community (when is that ?!?) I LOVE to garden, read, and hang out with our 8 grandkids!
