Meet the Board | Kathleen
Pobsa board member for 15 years, serving in many roles including President.
hello!
I’m Kathleen, the Regional Manager of the South Kitsap Regional Library.
I moved to Port Orchard in 2000 to start my career as the Children’s Librarian at the Port Orchard Library. I manage both the Port Orchard and Manchester Library locations. I feel very lucky to have been part of the downtown Port Orchard community for almost an entire century!
I have been able to help with so many incredible events and work with so many amazing businesses and community members.
My husband Jon and I raised our two sons in Port Orchard, our oldest son Nick, is now a salesman at Kitsap Auto Outlet and our younger son Ronan is in college, both graduated from South Kitsap High School.
I’m super excited for the next five years, with the new Library and Community Event Center being an important cornerstone of the current revitalization of our downtown. In my 25 years working downtown, it has never been more full or vibrant or had a more dedicated group of business owners. Even when Myhre’s was operating, many of the other storefronts were empty – which is not the case now. Port Orchard has some significant challenges, but I believe the positive energy that is coalescing downtown right now among the POBSA members will be the key to Port Orchard realizing our full potential.
